Putting community first.
How do you find like-minded people to do things with? One of the original promises of the internet was that you could find people with the same interests as you and go do things with them IRL. Roll.ooo is exactly that. A way to find people who love bikes as much as (or even more than) you. For their launch campaign, I shot a launch video with the founder and CEO, and we sent it out into the world in several versions (for A/B testing) and the results are in: new subscribers are up more than 2500% in the first month and event postings are up more than 50% vs pre-launch. And that means more people are out on their bikes, doing what they love.
More than a resume.
Sometimes we need to tell the world more about ourselves than a resume or a cover letter can convey. I put this (fake) MasterClass trailer together with some help from my wife (also a very talented editor and producer) to give hiring managers a little taste of what I can do. In less than 48 hours, we went from concept to script to finished video, shooting multiple set-ups at home and in the field; editing, coloring, creating graphics; and ultimately publishing this for the world to see. Be sure to stick around till the end for a couple outtakes.
Finding ways to give back.
Giving back to the community is important, and as part of helping a local non-profit culinary incubator get off the ground and launch their fundraiser, I created a video series that showcased why this project was important to the community, how even a small financial contribution would make an impact, and the small business owners who would benefit. I shot this video on site in the kitchen, edited it, and ultimately published it to the fundraising platform. The fundraiser was ultimately successful with more than $25k raised in less than 30 days.
